Programs
Little Scholars Academy’s programs are designed to introduce your child to physical activities in a fun and nurturing environment. Our “value differences” based curriculum will increase their confidence, independence and coordination while also improving listening skills, attention span and the ability to participate successfully.
Your child will be more confident, more willing to take prudent risks, and be challenged in ways they never have before. With each new achievement, self-confidence and self-esteem will soar.
Best of all, your child will take what they learn at the academy into your home, onto the playground and playing field, and into the classroom. Tried-and-true lessons for a lifetime of success.
Little Scholars Academy adheres to the British Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, that sets the standards for Learning, Development and Care for children from Birth – 5 years of age.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum is a Framework that was introduced on 13th March 2007 and builds a coherent and flexible approach to learning and childcare.
Throughout the foundation stage, as part of the learning and teaching process, practitioners (and this will involve all members of the team) will be continually assessing the child’s development in relation to the ‘Stepping stones’ and ‘early learning goals’ that form part of the Curriculum Guidance for the foundation stage.
These assessments are not formal, but instead take the form of accumulating continual observations and gaining knowledge of the ‘whole child’. These will then be accessible to staff, parents, etc. in the form of an Early Learning Profile.
EYFS sets out six areas of learning which cover the child’s physical, intellectual, emotional and social development – it encourages a partnership approach between the Early Years Team, parents, and any other carers the child may have. We feel that this holistic approach is essential in ensuring that the child receives the best ‘head start’ that we can possibly give them!
